Big Body Truck Co. LLC

• Responsible for the creation of Big Body Truck Co. LLC, a metal fabrication company created with the goal of designing and manufacturing an innovative and cost-effective truck flatbed system that increases usable area, ground clearance and overall functionality. I was also responsible for all aspects of running a small business including marketing and accounting.

• Through six full design iterations and 18 months of ongoing testing, I successfully designed and manufactured the only known modular truck flatbed system mainly comprised of welded steel brackets, aluminum t-slot channel and PVC deck boards along with various additional accessories and hardware.

• The final design reached a perfect combination of simplicity and adjustability that enabled customers to choose from an in-house build or a DIY kit as the design allowed each customer to fully construct, modify and add on to their flatbed only using simple hand tools and eliminating the need for metal fabrication skills.

• Virtually any size flatbed was constructable from the same parts allowing for scalability and a simplistic build process.

• Served as a consultant primarily for project takeoffs and material estimation for an interior eco-veneer product (Ekoa).

• Worked with the Ekoa product team to understand the manufacturing and installation process to help aid in accurate project takeoffs and to provide background knowledge to project installation teams.

• Responsible for project implementation and customer success for all clients using SmartTrack, an intelligent interior wall system progress tracking product, focusing on delivering percent complete and production rate data on individual tasks for interior wall scopes.

• Responsible for working with product developers, engineers and data scientists to improve and develop the UX/UI of SmartTrack from both an internal and customer facing perspective.

• Responsible for onboarding, training and managing the implementation of StructionSite's main product for general clients, which was used to document the entire project from project start to project finish.

    • EIFS Pre-Fabricated Panels have the ability to mimic the finishes of fiber cement and ACM panels resulting in uniform exterior finish thickness, uniform thermal properties and uniform waterproofing.​

  • Involved in developing the General Contractor's Schedule to reflect constructible durations and sequencing of all trades throughout the project.

  • Responsible for selection of main material suppliers for common building elements such as framing, taping and drywall.

  • Responsible for set-up of DPC which is a production tracking software run out of the On-Screen Takeoff and Quick-Bid suite.

    • This program allows for more in-depth and accurate job tracking than the reverse takeoff method in a smoother process resulting in the ability to track more frequently (daily)​

• 333 12th St. - City Gardens:

  • Project Lead on Change Order resolution with General Contractor and Owner due to explicit knowledge of all RFIs and ASIs that added a large portion of scope throughout the duration of the project.​​

    • Led photographic documentation of added work via RFI and ASI to provide backup as multiple areas were built, demolished, and re-built due to incomplete or incorrect information in original ASIs and RFIs.

    • All priced impacts resulted in full payment at 70% project completeness due to General Contractor change.

  • Developed and Implemented a Cost to Complete analysis via a simplified reverse bid takeoff in order to accurately track project progress.

    • Accurately projected the project on a bi-weekly basis from July 2019 - May 2020

    • The data derived from the Cost to Complete model resulted in adjustments to job-site manpower and personnel in order to improve project profitability.

  • Responsible for documentation of schedule impacts and trade damage issues that became regular events that greatly reduced back charge claims against the Nevell Group by other trades.

    • Estimated savings of six figures due to this effort.​

  • Designed main exterior Fiber Cement Panel Rainscreen System via field measurements due to inaccurate architectural plan dimensions that did not represent ASIs that modified interior and exterior framing.

    • All panel sizes developed were accurate to within 1/16" across 200 LF horizontal and 90 LF vertical on two separate building elevations​.

    • Accurate field dimensions resulted in no panel modifications across 1000+ panels with a material value of 500k and a labor value of 250k+.

  • Created unit framing plans and unit material order bundles to reduce framing errors on the job site and reduce labor cost and risk for sorting and re-stocking framing material on-site.

  • Verified exterior sealant sub-contractor's material takeoff resulting in five figure cost savings.

  • Job-site leader in RFI creation for multi-trade related issues throughout the duration of the project due to inexperienced general contractor team.

  • Responsible for creating man-loaded schedules based off of full project schedules in order to create look-aheads for required manpower across all Nevell Group trades.

  • Job responsibilities included a mix of roles due to inconsistent project team including Project Manager, Foreman and Superintendent roles.

  • Responsible for overall project schedule analysis and implementation.​

  • Responsible for Document Control for all relevant design changes including ASIs, RFIs, Bulletins, and applicable Shop Drawings submitted via other Trades.

  • Responsible for compiling, procuring and submitting material product data and material samples.

• Responsible for originating and checking calculations for pipe supports, bolts, plates, wall loading, floor loading, floor support structures for cabinets containing safety related equipment, safety related fencing, bollards, and other structural elements for Nuclear based (safety-related) structures. 

• Responsible for drawing architectural and structural details by hand and utilizing AutoCAD for pipe supports, bollards, floor support structures and other structural elements.

• Trained though and obtained Unescorted Site Access to the Diablo Canyon project in San Luis Obispo, CA for the purpose of conducting walk downs on site to determine constructibility of projects as well as directing construction and noting as-built condition of designed structural elements. 

• Led Pre-Job Brief meetings and coordinated with members of PG&E at the Diablo Canyon Project, located in San Luis Obispo, CA to define project scope and the contents and transferal of project calculation packages.

• Performed structural analysis using GTSTRUDL and prepared design drawings using AutoCAD for pipe supports, bolts, and plate structures.
